WAXWRX (Matt Clover)

Matt Clover is the co-founder of HITA, alongside Alex Vacca, and a lifelong presence within DJ culture.

With roots in mobile DJing that stretch back to the age of 13, Matt—known to many as WAXWRX—has been collecting, curating, and commanding records for more than three decades. Raised in a music-obsessed household, he honed his craft early, soundtracking everything from weddings and parties to army barracks summer balls. By 18, his passion and talent had propelled him into nightclub residencies and club nights across the UK and beyond.

During a standout two-year residency, Matt shared the booth with an impressive and diverse roster of artists, including Pete Tong, Grooverider (for Drum & Bass nights), John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Prok & Fitch, and many more—cementing his reputation as a versatile and respected selector.

A self-confessed DJ equipment obsessive, Matt has built one of the most comprehensive collections of DJ mixers imaginable, having owned or tested virtually every modern rotary mixer on the market. His deep technical knowledge has helped countless DJs make informed choices about their setups. This passion led him to found rotary.house, which began as a Facebook group for rotary mixer enthusiasts and remains an active hub for aficionados worldwide.

Matt also left his mark on the rave era of the ’90s, playing at iconic events and venues such as United Dance and The Safe House. More recently, his journey has taken him to Ibiza, performing in renowned clubs and bars including the legendary esParadis.

With HITA expanding both at home and internationally, 2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year as Matt prepares to reignite his DJ career alongside the organisation’s growth. This is only the beginning—watch this space.
